What is your kryptonite?
What is your SUPER POWER?
Has your business ever been flying, like Superman (or woman), and then all of a sudden from out of nowhere some kryptonite appears and, like Superman, your world comes crashing down?
And in that tough time you get different opportunities that you get sucked into.
You get sucked into short-term benefit versus long-term gain.
You get distracted.
Things are tough when the kryptonite is around.
The problem with this is it keeps you doing the ‘shitty’ things. It keeps you away from your ‘SUPER POWER’.
It keeps you in reactive mode.
In short: it SUCKS.
I just had a conversation with a client talking about this and doing the things they hate in the business. The most important part of this conversation, though was him doing more of his SUPER POWER.
Sometimes it’s easier to identify what you hate — which is a great start.
Sometimes you know what you love, but don’t know how to get rid of the rest of the ‘stuff’.
Either way, without a shadow of a doubt, I know that if you do more of your SUPER POWER then you, your business, your partner, and your kids will all be better for it.
The worst thing that ever happens from spending more time in your SUPER POWER is you have more FUN.
That’s not so bad, is it?
Everyone has a bit of Superman in them, unfortunately society shapes us not to stand up and own this.
Stand up. Own it.
This is a whole other topic, and probably a separate rant as I get fired up about this… Before I digress, though let me get back on track…
You are superman or superwoman in your world in at least one thing.
What is that one SUPER POWER you have?
My SUPER POWERS are making complex problems simple and leading-the-ship better.
So before you move from this screen I implore you to get straight with yourself: what is your SUPER POWER?
